Fireplace & Chimney ContractorWhether you need an indoor fireplace or outdoor fireplace maintained, we've got you covered. But let's take a minute and talk about the different styles of fireplaces we find here in the Milwaukee area.
First you have the oldest style which is the wood-burning fireplace. Obviously this would be the oldest style as these have been used back in the earliest days of our country, but I digress. Log fireplaces give that fantastic rustic feel to any home or outdoor space. There's nothing like walking inside from a 7 degree day outside and putting some logs on the fire to sit next to with hot cocoa! That smell from the burning logs just warms our hearts and makes us feel like we're at home. The challenge with wood burning fireplaces is maintenance. It's always a great idea to get a solid chimney sweep in a log fireplace at least once a year. If you need recommendations on a good chimney sweeping company, just ask! Another fantastic style of fireplace is the natural gas fireplace. This is what we find is most common in the Milwaukee and Waukesha County today. This design gives a ton of flexibility with the look and feel of a fireplace plus it's pretty easy on maintenance. You can create a modern style fireplace with tile and polished stone, or make a rustic fireplace seem like it burns wood even though it's gas. What we like about natural gas fireplaces is the simplicity in operation. It doesn't take much to get one of these fires going, and they're quite safe to operate if installed correctly. No wood chips or ash will spill out of the fireplace and cause problems. However, the downside to gas fireplace installations is the cost. Running gas piping over to a fireplace can be costly if there's no piping already. So keep that in mind for an outdoor fireplace if you don't have piping done already. Lastly, the least common fireplace we find here around Milwaukee is the electric fireplace. It's cheaper to install than a gas fireplace, but it's definitely more expensive to operate. Electricity currently is much more costly than natural gas, so what you save in upfront cost, you will definitely make up for in long term operation cost. As a leading Wisconsin fireplace company, we pride ourselves in excellence and customer satisfaction. The first step for you is to give us a call and we'll come out to inspect your home or business. We'll get your specifications and work up a detailed estimate for you. And trust us, you're going to love it! |
